‘Cats claw their way to 3 out of 4 points in Long Beach

The Bay State Bobcats opened up their 2021-2022 Season Campaign on the road at the Long Beach Sharks, this past weekend, despite only being on the ice for the past week and a half.

 

Bay State 6 @ Long Beach 4 – Ian Skinner had two goals and an assist to lead the Bobcats to a 6-4 win in both team’s season opener. The Bobcats got off to a strong start, jumping out to a 4-1 lead on goals from Jace Desmarais, Landon Boothe, Reid Murray, and Skinner. Skinner would add another goal in the 2nd period and Michael Montague would add a third period goal. For the Sharks, goals came from Ryo Yamamoto, Tyler Zembrzycki (2), and Jake Weikel. Cameron Schnopp made 57 saves in the win, while Greyson Skirpan made 43 saves in the loss.

Bay State 1 @ Long Beach 2 (SO) – Ryo Yamamoto had the lone goal in the shootout to give the Sharks their first win of the season as they beat the Bobcats on Sunday, 2-1. Bay State took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd period with their lone goal from Brian Woak. The Sharks had answer later in the period with their lone regulation goal from Dylan Harbour. Ryo Murakami made 19 saves in the win, while Braeden Bovey made 43 saves in the shootout loss.

 

The Bobcats will have their Home Opener on Wednesday against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks. Puck drop is for 7:30pm at Fitzpatrick Arena in Holyoke. We hope to see you there!
