The Bay State Bobcats stunned the Norwich Sea Captains this past Sunday, scoring 3 goals in the final 15 minutes to win 3-2 in the final game before Thanksgiving break at the Fitzpatrick Arena in Holyoke.
Norwich 2 @ Bay State 3 – Bobcats goalie Braeden Bovey made 57 saves and Landon Boothe had a two goals and an assist to lead Bay State to a 3-2 win over Noriwch. After a scoreless 1stperiod, Noriwch took a 2-0 lead with 2nd period goals from Teagen Beier and Ethan Ranger. The Bobcats then came back to score three goals in the 3rd period, which included a goal from Will Cormie and two from Boothe. Sea Captains goalie Alex Tsymbalyuk made 39 saves in the loss.
“I have to say, we actually didn’t play too bad the first two periods,” Assistant Coach Trevor Simonson was quoted saying. “Their goaltender made some highlight saves of the year against us especially in period 2. We very well could have been tied or ahead heading into the 3rd period. But that’s hockey! The boys rallied in the 3rd period and were determined. We ended the 1st half of the season on a high note and hopefully we can continue it going into next week.”
The Navy and Gold improve to 6-11-1-1 while the Norwich Sea Captains drops to 2-15-1-0. The ‘Cats are back in action at home on Saturday, December 4th at Fitzpatrick Arena for a 5:40pm puck drop.
