‘Cats Tender Pair of NY State Section 2 All-Stars

The Bay State Bobcats of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are excited to announce that the Junior A Hockey Club has tendered a pair of New York Section 2 All-Stars from the Adirondack Rivermen High School Hockey team: Goaltender Ben Di Fiore and Forward Will Cormie for the 2021-2022 season.

Ben Di Fiore hails from Glens Falls, NY and has anchored young Rivermen teams since the 8th grade and started seeing significant playing minutes as a Freshman. For the 2019-2020 season, Di Fiore posted an impressive .904 save percentage with a team predominantly juniors and with only one graduating senior. Due to COVID-19, the Rivermen’s season has been delayed but the ‘Cats and Di Fiore have high hopes for him in his senior season with Adirondack, before coming over to Bay State for the 2021-2022 season.

“Ben is a great goalie and more importantly a great kid,” Head Coach/General Manager Anthony Langevin was quoted saying. “He has a proven track record of stopping a lot of pucks and seeing a lot of minutes. He will be able to step in next season and get much opportunity as we are aging out 2 of our top goaltenders after this season. I’m thrilled to have Ben wear the Navy and White next season.”

Will Cormie comes from South Glens Falls, NY and has also had an impressive High School Hockey career thus far. As only a junior with the Rivermen, Cormie posted 29 total points (17 goals and 12 assists) good for 1st on the team in points, and 11th in the entire Section 2 Hockey League. The Rivermen and Bobcats also have high hopes for Cormie for his senior season which will start on February 1st, with Di Fiore.

“Like Ben, Will is a great kid and a very good hockey player,” Assistant Coach/Director of Scouting Trevor Simonson was quoted saying. “He has the ability to score anywhere around the net. His offensive threat will be welcomed next season and we will look upon him immediately to make an impact on the forward end with putting the puck in the net and applying tremendous pressure to the opposing teams’ forwards when back checking.”

The Bobcats entire Front Office would like to wish both Ben and Will the best of luck with their High School seasons starting soon. The entire Club is excited  have them wear the Navy and White, come next fall.
