The Bay State Bobcats traveled to Norwich, CT for their second and final game of the weekend. The Navy and Gold came away with a 4-2 win. The guests out chanced the hosts almost 3-1, but in the end was able to win a key divisional match-up. Ben Di Fiore took home the win in net with 32 saves, Ian Skinner had a 3 point night (1 goal and 2 assists) while Brian Woak chipped in with a pair of goals to lead the guests to victory.
Bay State 4 @ Norwich 2: The Bay State Bobcats picked up a win in a 4-2 final score over the Norwich Sea Captains. The Bobcats took the lead in the first period when Brian Woak picked up his fifth goal of the year. Norwich tied the game 1-1 with Drew Schemmel scoring at 5:57. Ian Skinner got the Bobcats ahead again scoring his fourth goal of the year for a 2-1 score. Bay State added another goal with Tima Basarab at 9:01 for a 3-1 score. Norwich answered back nearing the end of the middle frame with Evan Tower to make it 3-2 going into the third. In the final frame, Brian Woak netted his sixth goal of the year for a 4-2 final score. Bobcats netminder Ben Di Fiore stopped 32 of the 34 shots that came his way in the win.
The ‘Cats are back home next weekend as they host the Northeast Generals on Friday night and the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on Sunday night.
