Navy and Gold Split Competitive Weekend on the Road

The Bay State Bobcats continued their road games this past weekend, as the squad went to Norwich, CT on Saturday night to take on the Norwich Sea Captains, and traveled to Danbury, CT to play the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks on Sunday night. The team took home a 1-1-0-0 record. Falling 6-3 to the Sea Captains on Saturday night in a penalty filled match, and defeating the Jr. Hat Tricks on Sunday in a shoot-out, 3-2.

Bay State 3 @ Norwich 6 – Drew Schemmel scored twice, Alex Tsymbalyuk stopped 26 shots and the Sea Captains ousted the Bobcats 6-3 on Saturday. Trevor Souza, Jack Kinahan, Teagen Beier and Ethan Ranger also scored for Norwich, outpacing two goals from Jace Desmarais and one from Ian Skinner, both of Bay State. Bobcats goaltenders Ben Di Fiore and Braeden Bovey combined for 37 saves in the loss.

Bay State 3 @ Danbury 2 (SO) – Landon Boothe and Tima Basarab found twine in the shootout and Ben Di Fiore stopped two of three Danbury shooters to help the Bobcats knock off the Jr. Hat Tricks 3-2 on Sunday. Basarab and Vincent Anderson lit the lamp in regulation time for Bay State, while Grant Hanifen and Reese Tamburo provided Danbury’s goalscoring. Both Bay State’s Di Fiore and Danbury’s Lorenzo Rossi finished with 28 saves on 30 shots apiece in regulation time.

The Bobcats continued their injury streak, unfortunately, with two more players out due to concussions from Saturday night’s game. But the team will look to get back to work tomorrow to prepare for their lone game on tap this weekend: Saturday night at home at 6:30pm against the Norwich Sea Captains. We hope to see you at Fitzpatrick Arena in Holyoke on Saturday night. Let’s #PackTheFitz!
