Navy and Gold take home 4 points in one night, over Norwich!

The Bay State Bobcats played the conclusion of their suspended game from Wednesday (due to a power outage), in addition to their originally scheduled game Friday night at #TheFitz in Holyoke against their rivals the Norwich Sea Captains. The boys did not disappoint, as they won 2-1 in overtime as well as a finishing game 2 with a dominating 6-2 victory.

Bay State 2 @ Norwich 1 (OT) – The ‘Cats started the night with the suspended game from Wednesday, already up 1-0 after 2 periods of play. Cameron Schnopp shut the door in the first half 1.5 periods of play and Braeden Bovey came in for the final 1.5 periods. A very defense-played period for the Navy and Gold, but Norwich would tie things up at 1 a piece, with just 3:55 remaining in the period/game. The game would head into overtime, tied 1-1. Just 25 seconds into overtime, Michael Montague skated the puck up the ice in the neutral zone. He drew 2 Norwich defenders to him and sauced Landon Boothe a phenomenal pass to send him in on a breakaway. Being slashed, hooked, and attempted to be tripped, Boothe made a head-fake on the Sea Captain goaltender and scored five-hole for the game winner. Braeden Bovey took home the win in net and the ‘Cats ended a 7 game skid.

Norwich 2 @ Bay State 6 – It was a four point night for Landon Boothe as the Bay State Bobcats defeated the Norwich Sea Captains 6-2. Jace Desmarais netted a pair of goals while Tima Basarab logged a goal and two helpers. Dylan Gallagher and Isaiah Walter both chipped in goals as well. Ben Di Fiore was a wall stopping 39 shots on the night. Drew Schemmel and Teagen Beier scored for Norwich while Andrew Yocum made 36 saves in the loss.
